The Spaceship Genre
OPCA Inc. presents the Spaceship Genre for writing, roleplaying, larp, and other diversions. A combination of elements primarily from Stephen King's The Dark Tower, Joss Whedon's Firefly, and the popular Sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica as well as tributes to various other media. The purpose of this wiki is to facilitate and catalogue the world building and plot ideas of this multi-verse genre.
OPCA Inc.
We are a group of seven friends who share a common interest in roleplaying, both in creative writing and in live-action format. You may find us on livejournal at drabblerousers. It has been our habit for several years now to bring characters out of their established canons into worlds (also called 'genres') of our own making. This genre has more scope and scale than anything we've created yet; hence the need for something to organize it for us.
Sources/References
We take inspiration either directly from or in the spirit of:
Stephen King (The Dark Tower and many others), Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Neil Gaiman (Neverwhere, Good Omens and others), George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, Marvel Comics (Batman, Runaways and others), Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH, Harry Potter, The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings, Richard Adams, Patrick O'Brian, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Harris' Silence of the Lambs, and many more. If you think you see a reference to something, you're probably right.
